Academy Village

Academy Village is a new senior housing community located in Carmichael, CA on approximately 16 acres at the corner of Winding Way and Hackberry Lane. The community includes 204 Independent Living 55+ Apartments, 12 Independent Living Villas, 8 Independent Living Micro-Homes, 93 Assisted Living Apartments, and 50 Memory Care Beds for a total of 367 senior living apartments. 

The project incorporates a new performing arts center which will be utilized by both the senior living residents and the school. Central to the project is the Community Village Square, which is open to the public with a restaurant, cafe, fitness center, indoor pool, and other wellness amenities. Burrell helped the team come up with a project design to enhance the surrounding area and provide inter-generational opportunities for living well and learning with the adjacent school.

Burrell assisted with all the entitlements, including participation in the public outreach workshops. We have prepared mass grading plans, sewer plans, drainage improvement plans, drainage study, and a parcel map. The improvement plans include roadway widening for winding way and Hackberry Lane along with necessary traffic signal modifications required as part of the intersection widening.
